The Momentum Film & Video Collective’s workshop titled Distributing Your Film to Festivals takes place on Saturday, May 17 at 1:00pm in the Arts Council Windsor & Region building (1942 Wyandotte Street East).

Getting your film or video seen by audiences of producers, directors, critics and art lovers is key to your success as a filmmaker or video artist. This three-hour workshop will provide practical tips and tricks on how to distribute films and videos in the most efficient and effective means possible. Topics will include: festival genres, file formats, labelling, mailing v.s. online submissions, entry fees, screen grabs, submission forms, legal issues, distribution centres, and preparing addition material (synopsis, bio, dialogue list, etc.).
About the Facilitator:
Owen Eric Wood’s videos have screened at more than 100 galleries and festivals in 30 countries. He won the Best Video Award at the Avanca Film Festival (Portugal), the Vision Art Prize at the Visionaria International Video Festival (Italy), the Urban Diversity Award at the Toronto Urban Film Festival (Canada), Third Prize at the International Festival of Video Art (Argentina), and honourable mentions at Videoformes (France) and the Japan Media Arts Festival. Wood is a recent graduate of the M.F.A. program at the University of Windsor.
